R2016a Initialization error

Postby herbertcamacho » Mon Dec 26, 2016 12:09 am

Hello all,

I am trying to set up GMAT on my 2015 Macbook Pro, and I'm getting an issue with the beta GUI application. I downloaded the most recent release from https://sourceforge.net/projects/gmat/

I haven't altered any of the files, but when I try to run the GMAT-R2016a_Beta.app, I immediately get this error:

GMAT WARNING Error occurred during initialization: Utility Exception: FileManager::ReadStartupFile() cannot open GMAT startup file: "/private/var/folders/vm/9gd90fwx2j17vvth69scngfm0000gn/T/AppTranslocation.BDEA641F-DEF4-466B-8CF0-8914982FD99D/d//gmat_startup_file.txt"

Any idea how to fix this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Does the file exist? Can you read it, when logged in as the same user as the app is running as?

The file exists, but not in the location indicated by the Error message. I can find it under GMAT/R2016a/bin/gmat_startup_file.txt

Well, I see two obvious solutions - try to change GMAT to look in the location you want, or move all the files into the location where GMAT is currently looking...
