I think there is a major delay excluded from GMAT. It looks like GMAT is only calculating the light travel time based on pure geometrical assumption. Shouldn't there be the Shapiro delay on spacecraft signals due to the curvature of space. Deep space probes have actually measured the Shapiro delay as an experiment. It shouldn't be difficult to add the effect of the Shapiro delay on the light travel time.

Hi Mark,

We have been working on GMAT measurement modelling extensively for the last year. The models we have not release include light travel time, and relativistic correction due to the bending of light due to massive bodies. (The Sun and Jupiter are the only ones in the solar system massive enough to have a signficant effect). Our last release of GMAT did model linear light time travel, and was not simply geometric. However, it did not have the general relativity correction. We have since addressed that issue.
