Shadow function in SRP model

Postby Sharon » Mon Aug 27, 2018 5:42 am

Hi,

Does the SRP effect on orbit becomes zero, when the satellite is in umbra? Does the SRP model includes the shadow function which takes care of umbral and penumbral region? GMATMathSpec SRP equation doesn't give details on this. Can anyone help on this.

I think, yes, it does.
https://sourceforge.net/p/gmat/git/ci/G ... essure.cpp
Code: Select all
// Test shadow condition for current spacecraft (only if body isn't Sol)
....
               percentSun = shadowState->FindShadowState(inSunlight, inShadow,
                     shModel, &state[i6], cbSunVector, sunSat, forceVector,
                     sunRadius, bodyRadius, psunrad);
